Nikolaj Coster-Waldau who plays Jaime mentioned the way Ned's brother and father died in an interview. I think NCW feels that Jaime gets a bad rap and I have to agree. I just think it's great that the actor sympathizes with his character so much even if he is an evil bastard.

Yes, that's what I'm meant when I said 'she made sure.'

If there's anything missing from the show it's that it doesn't get across how unusual Jon's situation is. A bastard would almost never be raised alongside trueborn children. In most cases he'd be nothing more than a peasant. He's an embarrassment to both Ned and Cat.

I have no memory of the scene between Cat and Cersei being in the book.

You know what phrase I hate?

Actually I'm looking at the scale here and it turns out moderately attractive women deserve a Rocko's Modern Life.

That's not even his real name!

Damn, I didn't think of that. I have to re-read 3 and 4.

That's why you always proof-read before you hit 'Post.' :(

If being good and honorable causes you to suffer, is it really worth being good an honorable? GRRM has a lot to say on that point and many others. There so many important ideas being explored from love, loss of innocence, gender roles and their effects on society, that I'm wondering why am I even have to type this.

Don't be dense. Everyone following the Ice and Fire series at that point was keenly aware of the backlash. I'm not sure why he chose that particular e-mail to respond to (maybe because they fucking asked him for his opinion?) but to call it 'very polite' is a joke. If you make a douche-bag statement then turn it into
