Not really, fanboyism can definitely be off putting to those who aren't swilling the kool aide. It's what stopped me from watching Whedon's work for the longest time. I eventually gave in, but then I guess I'm a bit contrarian by nature.

Ummm isn't the joke that he does report it to the cops but they essentially say we can't do anything about it, and if she isn't here then he'll get charged instead?
