Seems like it'll be hard to swallow.

[because, see, Houdini used to swallow handcuff keys andlockpicks, regurgitate them back up once he was in a milk jug or crate or whatever.  Supposedly.]

What I want the show to be is this.  Every single week, they find a way for a cop to accidentally handcuff Houdini.  Then 30 seconds later he escapes and the episode ends.
I could save these guys tons of production money, and spend it on cocaine, but do they listen to me?  they do not.

I saw the Sleepy Hollow pilot, just last night.  At first, it was intriguing but silly in a good way, then (around the time the rival covens were mentioned) it got just silly.   Then, somehow, by the last scene, I decided I liked it.  Could have been that completely creepy mirror-scene, with that jerky-moving

Decent headline, Modell.  But for true Houdini lovers, that should be be START holding your breath.

Chartex - I'm right there with you. A friend told me about this show years back — he loves it, and it seemed like it would be something I would like.  And though I do stumble upon it and can sit through an episode if it's of interest to me. it rarely fails to irritate me.  The repeated observations and questions, the

*I* wouldn't say they do a lot of repeating.  Other people keep saying that though.

Know who's tiny?  Stallone.  Everyone knows that I guess, but boy, you're kind of put in mind of an action figure of Rocky when you see him — not that he's THAT short, more like it's not a real person you're seeing.

I just love the fact that, according to the title on the clip, the monster was called the Ray Harryhausen, backward.

Yes, certainly the political stuff is dated, but most of it so well-written that it sounds (to me) like history.  The Marines Have Landed, the Medger Evers song, Crucifixion..  Ochs' voice, and passion, let me listen to the old, old protest songs with much more interest than any of Dylan's early

King's Watch looks fun.  Not that thrilled with Flash and Mandrake, but the Phantom is my fave pulp character.
I will, of course, wait for enough issues so that it becomes a trade paperback because I'm a grownup and can't be going into comics shops all the time!

Welll…. more power to 'em if we get a folk revival out of this one.  When the dust settles, and new-to-the-music kids have had a chance to sift through the latest wave and get around to hearing the real thing (eventually), maybe we'll get that Phil Ochs biopic I wanted for so long (then decided that the documentary

I'll see this movie, for damn sure.  But the idea, to me, of a Dave Van Ronk character being an "aspiring" folk singer…
I know he was at one time, of course he was, but to me Van Ronk sprang fully formed and then settled down to school every single Woody Guthrie wannabe in how to really do that.  (which is, don't.)
I

The Right Stuff is a fine movie.  The interplay between Shepherd and Levon Helm is priceless.

He really is a great actor.  Possibly limited, but I think if he wanted he could do a lot more character types than he has.  His plays… I dunno.  I've seen the movie of Fool For Love, and thought it was great, but I'm an Altman obsessive.  I did see a college production of Curse of the Starving Class and it was…

I've taken a few motorcycle trips throughout the states, and always had a good time, but no, didn't find myself, nor America.  Got sick and damn tired of weather, after a few days. Any weather.

Way to spoil it, Poonjamby.  It is, and they do.

It's a Bradbury cop show, and they investigate the mysterious goings-on at a carnival run by and older woman and  Johnny's evil twin.  That's right, Shepherd & Dark vs. Cooger & Dark.

Wow.  I jumped right to imdb when I read this, and yep.  Hitler's all over the place.  One is 1941's "Hitler Gives the Jews a City".   I'm not sure it was a very good city, but I haven't seen the movie.

oh yeah?  well *I* find it to be a Leader!

You heard Coulson.  It's a bus.  A really NICE bus, though…
