Now - I DID read the article, as I am a dutiful AVC member. But the headline pretty much guarantees I will watch the holy fucking shit out of this show.

What I want to duplicate on Breaking Bad is the storage container with the pallet full of cash.
Thanks!
I love it when people cleard loans. Trully I do.
Oh. So they DO get better…?
I like her voice a lot when I hear it, just don't have any albums by her. This one might not be the one to start with, but might check it out too. Of all the great songs on the Crazy Heart soundtrack, her "Reflecting Light" is the one I seem to listen to most.
It's actually really going to be a struggle.. it's not like with Game of Thrones - I'm behind on those too (and the damn Season 3 dvds aren't out till February!!) but I've read the books, so no spoiler problems.
Breaking Bad, on the other hand… my friends know my situation, THEY won't spoil it for me, but I'm worried…
And I was not one of those who watched because I have no cable. I am caught up to the last episode streaming (Hank with Leaves of Grass) but I guess all I can do is wait.
What they should have capitalized on, and couldn't quite, was that she was 17 when the book was published. Couldn't quite because saying "S.E. Hinton is a teenager" would lead to "a female teenager".
Good writeup. Steve and Eydie were ubiquitous on the talk and variety shows and she was a good singer, and the two of them had a nice chemistry.
And goddamn - they were still married, right? after meeting on a tv show? that's not a bad run for show biz. Any biz.
Changed for show biz, I'm pretty sure. Her real last name is Ness.
Yep. I love Los Pollos Hermanos, even though I don't agree that murder is the way to get ahead in the meth business.
"Joel Grey? yeah, it's HBO. 'Member when you played a Korean? do you still have the makeup?"
First Law would be great.
Damn it, I have GOT to read some Jack Vance. I think I read a few as a kid but they were middle books of a series, or something. Any starting points I should head for?
Agreed on Amber… but I have a massive trade paperback with all ten of the books (the original 5, which are nearly perfect, and the second series which Zelazny wrote much later), and know what? Read as one massive novel, that second set is much more enjoyable than I'd thought it would be.
I'll go further on Queen's Gambit — I don't think you need to know ANYTHING about chess to enjoy it, and the reason that's "going further" is that Tevis never dumbs down anything or really even bothers to explain. You go along for the ride: his description of the games, even when he's naming various defenses or sets…
This works fine for me, Scrawler, as long as every single other member of the hospital staff is a winged monkey.
We all know that the original Wizard of Oz had nothing to do with hospitals or New York…
Liked, but for the humor. Not the fact…
