The effort he put into getting the cock shot was pretty damn funny. That had to be intentionally humorous, don't you think? Right? Anyone?

If it were set just a few years before the beginning of BSG, that might be one thing, but 58 years gives a LOT of leeway for things to play out. Unless we get a time jump in the second season finale and a title card that reads "50 years later."

nudity
I haven't seen the dvd version. Is the nudity as gratuitous as it was in The Plan? B/c that was hilarious how Olmos as the director handled the nudity there.

Ever is a mighty long time. And even right now, what about Eric and Tami on Friday Night Lights?

Though I agree about Pam's reaction to Jim asking her out. That still has a nice emotional impact, even in a friggin' clips show. It was also interesting how they pretty much saved the Jim/Pam stuff for the end or near-end, like the writers realize how those two are the emotional core of the show. Yet most of the

I didn't know . . .
. . . anyone still did clip shows. Seriously, I can't remember the last time I've seen one. I thought they finally went out of style back in the 90s. Hmph.

foliation
Didn't Tom say "refoliate"? And my favorite moment tonight: Ron negotiating with Leslie for what he wants from the dinner. Love that guy.

Funny what fifteen years will do to you.

when a sitcom is working
I know a sitcom is working when even a non-joke like Haley and Claire getting excited at the end is a really pleasing character moment. It was nice to see them actually having fun together.

boom boom powell
So someone writes a gimmicky memoir in the vein of A.J. Jacobs, succeeds, gets a mediocre movie made from it, and has nothing to offer in her second book. Shocking.

the statham effect
So did Berney watch The Transporter before he wrote the book?

I'm one of the weirdos who like Interpol's second album better than their first (well, except for the first song on Antics, which I never play). Their third album has grown on me. Once I gave up on thinking they would/should explore something new, I relaxed and found it good, if unexciting.

they're no Interpol . . .
. . . but they've been okay up to now. Of course, that also depends on how well you (a) like Interpol and (b) tolerate bands that sound like Interpol even down to the lead singer. I love Interpol and have enjoyed the Editors, so I wish the word on the new cd was better.

for all that I've given up
Life is somehow nicer and easier now without cable/satellite.

Never seen him before. I hope he has a decent career, but based on my Farley-dislike, I also hope I don't see him again.

scottie = farley
Was it just me or did the kid playing Scottie want a little too badly to channel Chris Farley?

"I've no doubt I suspect"? If I'm going to revise a sentence, I should read over it again.

Dammit, Claude.

cary grant
I'd never defend it as his best, but Father Goose might be my favorite Cary Grant movie, precisely b/c he played crusty fogey so damn well and he only really did it the once. Of course, I also grew up watching it on TBS, so the whole childhood nostalgia thing might be a factor.

keen eddie
Human Target seems like it might be an adequately entertaining throw-away (when you add in the Jackie Earle Haley factor), but in my alternate universe, they'd be bringing back Keen Eddie. THAT was a fun show.
