Xora: Looked to me like after the WW looked at him they just ignored the rock Sam was hiding behind. I think they definitely would have shown us a death scene of some sort if they had killed him. So if he didn't die of fright or hypothermia by the time the entire zombie army and their travelling blizzard passed over

My take is that 'game' is the game for the Iron Throne, 'two players' means 'the Wolf and the Lion' and 'no longer a game for two players' is Varys foresight that Renly and/or Stannis will get in the game.

I'm still wondering why the White Walkers spared that long-haired ranger at the very beginning of the pilot episode.

I think the triumphant vision Melisandre showed Stannis in the fire was a future with a "Smokebaby Baratheon's BBQ" in every city in Westeros.

That's a good theory. One thing is for sure, his soul is toast.

Overthinker: …or if the Mountain and the Tickler were overseeing production you can bet your steaming ratbuckets they'd find a way to crank out 20 episodes a year.
