This is the best description of Jourgensen ever. Just scroll back up and look at that photo, then come back and read this again. Ahhh.
Yeah - it's a great setup to the point in the film when Angel's learning to really enjoy Danny's presence in his life, and asks how Danny's mom died. When Danny earnestly but sadly says "traffic collision," you can almost see Nicholas cringe as he realizes that what was a job statistic to him was a real tragedy in the…
I've found that "Nobody tells me NUFFIN" works in a variety of situations.
Wait, water towers get wrapped to look like deodorant sticks?!
CABOT! CABOT! CABOT! CABOT? CABOT? CABOT!
They remind me of my parents, which I guess they're supposed to - by that I mean remind the average viewer of their parents, of course. Real charity cases, kids whose parents were clearly bonkers as shit or flat-out abusive, they were pretty kind to them, and they cut them a lot of slack. But kids in whom they saw…
My best friend when I was a kid in Michigan, not far at all from where this show is set, was a recent Polish immigrant. She'd adapted pretty well, so to walk into her house was a shock - it was so…EASTERN EUROPEAN. Weird old wooden furniture painted bright colors, a gruff Polish-speaking plumber dad who never said…
idiotking - no, I actually live in relatively unenlightened North Texas, but in a college town where more adventurous food is welcomed.
A restaurant near my house specializes in variations on eggs Benedict, and my favorite is the one that utilizes smoked salmon in place of Canadian bacon. It is amaaaaazing, and though there is definitely room in my heart for that rubbery, greasy old McDonald's stand-by, a well-made Benedict is very dissimilar.
I was too! And I've read Paul Feig say that he intends the show to take place in Clinton Township, which is one town over. One of a billion reasons I always identified with F&G. He nailed down everything about growing up there.
Any person who knows Fourvel is a friend of mine.
Phil Hartman's was the only celebrity death that I cried upon hearing about. I'm mildly embarrassed to have been so moved by the death of a famous dude I never met, but he was by all accounts so awesome and it really sucks that he died in his prime.
WHO LEFT THE CAP OFF MY *BLEEP*ING GLISTEN?!
Yeah, when I saw the headline…the first thing I thought of was the AV club user. I know this reflects poorly on me as a lover of cinema, but, well, I never claimed to be a sophisticated one.
Aww, I really like the Dadspin columns and was hoping this would be better.
logistics high-five
I can't help but wonder if Lizzie's scallops didn't send her home merely because they were very obviously from Whole Foods, a sponsor who shows up as the food purveyor in many episodes. It'd reflect very poorly on the store as a whole if they really put a lot of emphasis on the quality of a food item from WF being so…
