I'm partial to the Nortons, in black.  Functional, but the design and the height of the tops help nudge them away from being boring.  Though the Dakotas in 'Cognac Suede' do have a Gunslinger vibe that I like.

If you didn't already have it, I would suggest reading anything other than White Noise to start with DeLillo.  I'm a huge fan of his, and I found it to be dated and largely not worth my time.
