In the minority on this one.
I wish I had gone in blind, rather than having it recommended to me for months before I watched it. As it was, I felt it to be a little too slick and self-aware, with a large portion of my problems being attributed to the dialogue. I don't think they quite managed to shake the "kids in

??? is the exact rating that I gave to Last Year at Marienbad, so I'm not doubting that Wild Grass will at least be worth a watch.

The Long Goodbye ignited my love affair with Altman. Still can't come to love Nashville, though.

Yes. Guacamole. Agreed.

Mmhm. Was wondering why it took two pages for someone to mention it.

I was hooked on the Pixies from when I first heard them, and will defend Trompe le Monde as their best album until my death.

I have never understood the complaints levied against Leigh in that film. She handled the dialogue with aplomb.

If Don't Look Back is half the movie that Desire is, I will see it ASAP.

I wouldn't have minded watching Coraline in 3-D if they had made better use of it. As it was, there were about three sequences that impressed me, and the rest of the time I was looking forward to taking the glasses off.

For what it's worth (which is probably a whole lot of nothing), I second the World War Z suggestion.

I HATE the cover of my edition, but am too cheap to re-purchase it.

As am I. All of them together would be overwhelming.

Crystal Lil
Though I would have liked to have seen more of Lil's gradual mental decomposition, I don't think that the tragedy that was her life had any less impact. She was the character for whom I felt the most, and reading of her trying to impregnate herself by her dead husband affected me more than the destruction

I think it's more the latter, as the movement became more and more removed from Arty as it grew. It does seem a bit far-fetched that so many people would latch on to such a cult, but it's not entirely unrealistic.

And even then, Chubby Chasee, Oly occasionally finds herself in danger of becoming too emotionally involved with Lick, and has to be very careful not to sympathize with her, lest she lose her nerve.

What a DICK. Argh.

Yeah, I hope this feature doesn't fall by the wayside, and am rather excited for the discussion to get rolling. Participate, people!

Because of Southland Tales I'll watch anything he does in the near future.

Oberst is yet another case of like the music, hate the fans. I'd say Lifted, I'm Wide Awake, Digital Ash, and his work with the Desaparecidos and the Mystic Valley Band are well worth his exemption from a lifetime grudge. "NYC-Gone, Gone" was one of my favorite tracks from last year.

"The Dead" gut-punched me when I first read it a few months ago.
