I was fairly high when I watched this one, and all I remember is a laughably ridiculous sex scene. Great addition to the conversation, I know.
Never got around to the movie, but I was surprised by how emotionally affecting several of the episodes were.
They are the only two movies because of which I have been reduced to actual shoulder-shaking, body-wracking sobs.
I'm feeling fat…and sassy.
Fullmetal Alchemist?
I'm not sure if this is bad form, anime-geekwise, but Fullmetal Alchemist has always been one of my favorites.
Watch a Fireflies and Dear Zachary double-feature, and then have a good, long cry in the dark.
FLCL actually did get me into anime, and it roped me in with the fantastic soundtrack. The Pillows are the Japanese equivalent of The Pixies. Don't defy me, because it is true.
I was pleasantly blindsided by that while watching Withnail recently, turbomcphazer.
Our English teacher loaned V for Vendetta to a friend of mine. I was bored in Pre-Calc, and decided to flip through it. Hooked. I then started to borrow from other people, buy trades from Borders / Amazon, and now get them through the library due to financial constraints.
Good to know I'm not the only one not feeling the Blankets love. It was quite a slog, and, in my opinion, nothing special.
Seattle's library system is one of the few (very, very, few) things I will miss when I leave the city. Any graphic novel they don't have, and they have a staggering amount, one can get through Inter-Library Loan in a week or so. In the last year I've read a ridiculous amount of comics.
Invisibles would pose quite the challenge to anyone willing to attempt to film it.
[joke] Jason Statham? [/joke]
I love Preacher to death, but it's a comic at heart. Mini-series may work, but most definitely not a movie.
JVS, I was SO disappointed by Left 4 Dead. So much wasted potential…
I was thinking that I didn't have any cool pop-culture memorabilia, but I just remembered that I have a copy of "Black Hole" signed by Charles Burns.
I think it's because people can rarely understand your posts, mbs.
I miss Pete, but other than that I haven't been disappointed in the direction that the show has been going.
Dove, that is the line I came in here to post. Amazing.
