He's not my favorite SF author, but I was compiling a list of well-known left-leaning SF authors, and he definitely fits the bill.

There's definitely a lot of left-leaning SF out there. Honestly all the good ones (with the exception of Heinlein - whose politics are more complicated than alot of today's conservatives). To name a few:
