Supernatural - I'm a few episodes into season 5 now and after a great fourth season I've gotta say I'm pretty disappointed in this season.  They had just hit their stride balancing the humor and drama but now the pendulum has swung too far into wackiness territory.

Liked for the Terry Tate reference, disliked for the fact that Terry Tate was played by Lester Speight, not Terry Crews.  Well I guess they have one common feature in your eyes, eh Neckbeard??????? (Maybe you weren't making that mistake, I just feel like bustin' chops today.)

Yeah slim pickins this week but I'm interested in checking out The Hunter starring Willem Dafoe, which comes out on DVD today.  It played at TIFF and has been getting decent reviews for what it's worth.  Sam Adams gave it a B on his AVC review.

In all seriousness, as a Signs fan I choose to believe the aliens came from a planet where water doesn't exist, so they didn't know it was fatal to them.  Not as fun as @avclub-e8579cb1f6e92f980e7161c98ccf165b:disqus 's explanation, but I'm sticking with it.

Last year's eps were forgettable.  Yo Leela Leela and Reincarnation were the only two I liked.  Maybe I'm getting crotchety in my old age but Zack's 'comfort zone' critique hit the nail on the head.
