My statement was just hyperbole. Considering his album did pretty well I think he's already "made it" to a degree as a recording artist. Also you just proved my point.

I sort of agree. I hate these arguments where people make it seem like people were sitting around reading Plato and watching Shakespeare before [insert trend here] came along. People will always watch dumb stuff.
