Exactly. I'm not advocating violence, but in this case, I'm not sure whether Teddy would've gotten it otherwise.

It never ceases to amaze me how this show can make the smallest moments seem so large and full of suspense. I was on the edge of my seat during a scene about a piece of paper being delivered. I mean… most series would probably skip that entirely, but Rectify is a great reminder that pretty much any event, no matter…
Same here. The combination of his careful cadence and thousand-yard stare destroyed me almost immediately. I wasn't sure what to expect from the show going in, but from that point, I knew it would be special.
Oh, man… I'm really nervous about the counseling session Teddy and Tawney are having in next week's episode. I'm still not certain where things will end up for them, but I just don't see any of it going well.
Exactly! I feel like I've met almost all of these characters at one time or another. I mean, Teddy types in particular seem to be everywhere in the South. Haha. But I do love all the little linguistic quirks and, yes, the prominence of food is amusing as well. I especially loved all the callbacks to monkey bread in…
Completely agree that something may be lost to those who aren't personally familiar with the South. I don't feel that it's essential to "getting" the show at all, but it seems to intangibly inform my understanding and enjoyment of it.
Exactly. You never quite know what he's going to say next. But that makes you hang on every carefully-chosen word.
Oh, I loved that. Daniel seems to navigate nearly every conversation like a chess match, which is by turns delightful and infuriating.
Exactly. From the first time they conversed, the effect Daniel and Tawney have on each other has been amazing to watch.
"I took the midnight train." Daniel Holden is a national treasure, you guys.
