Yeah. Like Scars on Broadway has some nice music to it, the lyrics are mostly shit. And Serj's solo stuff, has good lyrics comparatively, but blander sounding rock music.
Surprisingly enough he's also a big fan of Morissey, which is pretty weird.
The term that gets used for them is actually groove metal.
Slipnot's first album is very much a nu metal album, after that they moved to other genres, right now I'd place them more a hard rock area than metal. Also Pantera was groove metal, and Slipknot were nowhere in the vicinity of that genre.
I always saw Static-X as more industrial than nu metal.
Well, they did have that whole rapping element to them, and nu metal is very much tied to hip-hop. But RATM had too much going on musically, they didn't just played downtuned power chords. They had funk.
The problem with those albums was the fact that Darren Malakian decided he wanted to be a singer in the band, and his voice is just terrible and annoying. He worked in small doses doing backing or screaming, like Steal This Album! had the perfect ratio of his singing on it.
Yeah. I really wouldn't call them nu metal honestly. They were more of a mix of alternative/hard rock/various other metal genres. Nu metal to me uses element of electronic music/hi-hop neither of which can be heard in any of the SoaD albums.
Every death on any show is apparently all for cis-het white man pain.
Not just movies, but TV. Bryan Fuller got called a misogynist for killing a female character on Hannibal. And then there was some female character that was killed in the last Game of Thrones finale that drew the ire of the internet, claiming the death to be sexist.Though the biggest one is Supernatural, though people…
I'd say some of those clips used don't really gell with the description of fridging, some of them were just characters dying. Their deaths served no motivation for the male protagonists to seek justice/revenge.
Also just out of college
People don't know what they are missing. It's like kissing a peanut.
Todd Berry playing poker with Russian gangsters. And always bringing up that he was in The Wrestler.
It wasn't in the show a lot, but I loved the flashbacks to young Detective Holt catching criminals with great names. The Disco Strangler, The Freestyle Killer, Narrow Shoes Sam.
And they have the new running gag of Ben actually liking Jerry, which confuses/disgusts everyone.
Her descent into squalor has been great. She's basically slowing turning into Charlie.
Also, Charlie and cats.
Pie as the harbinger of doom on Supernatural, coupled with the fact Dean never gets to eat any pie. That and Busty Asian Beauties.
