How so? Hung made it three seasons before getting cancelled with Bored to Death and How to Make It in America for no real reason as far as I can tell. And the only franchise he even tried to do was The Punisher, and he left that because of the shitty sequel scripts.

Fun fact: Thomas Jane was also close to playing Wolverine. Singer wanted him for the part, but the suits wanted to see an audition tape, and Jane as he put it, decided to take the opportunity to work on a movie with Gene Hackman and Morgan Freeman that no one saw, instead of audition

Basically his whole tenure reviewing the show. I think this is like the only episode where he was positive at all, and didn't harp on something as a plot hole/inconsistency when it clearly isn't.

I wouldn't say they blinked per se, House is more or less a medical version of Sherlock Holmes. So they decided to take a page Holmes and have House die only to reveal he survived.
