Pretty much all of the commentaries are comedy gold. When I find myself re-watching Mr. Show, more often than not I do it with the commentary on.

Bookman is the best non-regular character. Perfectly written and perfectly performed by Hall.

I love how the other characters on the show generally look down on Jerry's act. They're very dismissive of it and don't seem to find it funny, usually. I happen to find him funny, but it's a nice touch to the characters/show.

Since then he was in multiple seasons of Deadwood, Who's Your Caddy, and Invader Zim. Yeah, he's not exactly Hollywood's hottest star, but he was obviously still getting work of a rather respectable caliber.
