I notice Seth Meyers has returned to delivering jokes sitting down, in the Weekend Update style, and I wonder if he tried to let Jost and Che establish themselves for awhile, then just gave up and went back to what he prefers.

No way those six people didn't at least attempt an orgy by day 2 of being stuck in the same room.

It really is amazing nobody got fired last season.

Rewatching some of the Wiig / Sudeikis / Samberg / Hader episodes this summer, it really hit home how far the show's fallen. It's not as bad as '94-'95 yet (when everyone was fired and they had to start nearly from scratch), but the last two seasons have been as bad as that post-Ferrell season, when Fallon and Sanz

Is this almost surely the last season? It's made it to syndication. Wasn't that the goal?

Gotta disagree with you there. I think 2 is the best. And I think by the end of 4, in retrospect, the cracks are really starting to show and it's clear they don't know how to wrap it up.

They were great at small stuff: what's in the hatch? What are the numbers? At least early on, they were. But in terms of the big, overarching mystery they were selling to viewers, they really shat the bed. And in retrospect, that's obvious around season 4.

That Family Guy was not-bad, bordering on acceptable, though. That's significantly better than most of the episodes last year.

I think you have it exactly right: they're promoting the syndicated reruns, which also explains why they're on Fallon, not Colbert, because Warner Brothers produces 2 Broke Girls. They've also turned up on various morning shows talking about the syndication.

Anybody else think PC Principal looked like Jim McMahon?

Josh Meyers, still getting work!
Actually, it's interesting that most of the MadTV cast is still steadily employed. Contrast that with the various minor SNL personalities who can't seem to get jobs (Kattan, Lovitz, Sanz)

Gee, it'll be nice to have an audio relic from John Belushi's drug-crazed final months.

Cool story, except it would have been Ebersol (or one of Ebersol's lackeys)… Lorne had been gone from the show for 18 months by the time Fear played.

A lot of stations started playing Stroke 9's "Kick Some Ass," which had just been released to radio a couple of weeks before (it was the single from the Jay and Silent Bob soundtrack). Stroke 9's record company freaked out that they were being associated with jingoism and pulled the band's second album. Their career

The episode was fine, but what was up with those bumpers where they poured urine (or possibly beer?) over a pyramid of uncooked hotdogs?

What a twist!

He went out with Jennifer Aniston for a bit, too.

I'd go so far as to say this is the last stone-cold classic REM song. Nothing after this absolutely HAS to be on a one-disc best of, but I think Imitation of Life does.

Never could get into Lotus. I like the lyrics a lot, but not the vocal melody, or the guitar line.

I was going to say that it looks like a live-action version of the American Dad living room, but it could well be both.
