I really hope she is OK, and this is all just part of a Samaritan plot.
Seems like the sort of thing the A.V. Club would forget to review.
Spoilers: Jesus was actually just a simulation.
I do hope that Alexa is OK.
I don't want to come off as an entitled dick, but some of us would really like to see this weeks Person of Interest review.
There's a decently sized discussion thread in last night's What's On Tonight, but I'd really like to get the official review.
I'm thinking that Shaw will survive, and the Machine will offer her the chance to become the new Analog Interface by tapping into her chip.
Chief of staff, I think.
If it was getting a spin-off, I'd dig up some sort of ritual sacrifice to see if it could air on cable.
If Leon was on a team, the Machine would immediately need to create a secondary team to pull him out of the fire every week.
Nope, they went with "Generic old white guy whose face you don't get a good look at."
I also liked John's appearance in the PoI spot of the credits. I was initially confused ("Wait, wasn't this episode supposed to be about POTUS?"), but once again they knew what they were doing.
I do think it's funny that PoI has real companies (Facebook, Google, presumably Tindr) existing right next their fictional counterparts (Friend Czar, Fetch and Retrieve, Anglr), but never mentions them in the same scene.
I liked the contrast between Samaritan (everyone, even POTUS, is irrelevant) and the Machine (giving additional purpose to former irrelevant numbers). It was also a good way of reminding the team of the value in what they do.
Since the official recap isn't likely to be up until tomorrow, let's talk about tonight's Person of Interest. It's amazing how an episode where POTUS is the number of the week can somehow have a much lighter feel than last week's tearjerker.
Never watched Royal Pains, but I really liked some of its contemporary USA shows (White Collar and Covert Affairs). It's almost amusing to see how the later series got bitten by the Peak TV bug about halfway through its run, going from fairly light and fluffy in the first two seasons to super dark and serious in…
They had an episode taking place mainly in D.C. near the end of Season 3, when a congressman was the POI.
To be fair, Vanessa already slept with his brother back in the Season 1 flashback.
That would be an interesting explanation for both her modern-ish attitudes and appearance. I could also easily imagine a time traveler heading to the past to study academic matters.
