I am often reminded how shitty life is, for a rather huge % of life on earth at any given time when I watch this show. That and that Don Draper isn't Buddha. Even though I WANT him to be so badly.
But that would make for dull tv, no?
All Life is Suffering and Mr.Weiner isn't about to let any of us forget it.
Om.
Also,

I rather enjoyed last nights episode, but like most of this year's season, I feel like I need another 2 or 3 watches to suss it all out to my satisfaction. There's something crippling about being saddled with a vcr I no longer know how to hook up ( and I have tried half a dozen times…I think I'm missing a coaxial

You know, I knew there was something there but the brain failed to fire correctly…time for the ginko loboba!

In that she even lives where he put her it's like a crappy crappy marriage.
So she leaves she loses her name brand, her kitchen and her home. Man. Bad choice.

Me too.

Did Janette not see a lawyer?WTFrak? Creepy dude owns her name? That seemed all kinds of weak on some level. I feel like Janette had more sense than to get hooked up without getting some legal clarification on the terms of their contract. That said, it's always a good time to throw another sazerac…it's not like her

Just off the top of my head, because I need more time to process the episode, I'd like to say I adore the pacing of the show. Unlike 99% of television dramas you have to stitch Treme's narrative together like random quilt pieces in a World's Fastest Quilter competition. Every episode is like that but this one was

Gotta give props to Melissa Leo who, after 2 seasons of being destroyed or icy in Terry's presence turned on the inner light of her relief to find that he's a good man after all. She glowed like a school girl. It were grand.

I *adored* that Nelson knew GiGi's and Miss Ladonna..
He may have the ethics of a dog who drank a bowl of beer but he knows New Orleans, mostly from going everywhere in the pursuit of a second bowl of beer.
I think it's my fav. Treme bit evah.
And Albert's face….priceless.

Those weren't tongs. It was 2 spoons. Tongs are easy, 2 spoons is a heck of a thing.
