I admit, I did enjoy "August". Its just that as a classicist/roman history buff, any time anyone uses Suetonius's "Lives of the Caesars" as their primary source for the Julio-Claudian emperors it kind of gets on my nerves. The guy was basically getting paid by their successors to dig up dirt on the first several

There is exactly as much validity to the belief that Livia poisoned everyone and that Augustus was molested by Julius Caesar as there is to thinking Obama was born in Kenya. In both cases the only people who ever believed it were the person in questions political enemies. It's just that Suetonius was a better writer

Well, you are the biologist, so I'll take your word for it.

True enough, but only one survived the crossing, so they can get away with using any number of elephants between 1 and 37 and just claim they are representing moment X in the crossing, when that number of elephants were still alive.

I was going to say something about Orson Scott Card, but Zach beat me to it in the article. He was one of my top three favorite authors for a long time. When I learned he isn't just a Mormon but a rabid gay hating Mormon, being a gay dude myself, I could not forgive him. Plus, his writing has seriously gone downhill

Well, they've all got that one big tortoise in them, really, even if she isn't explicitly mentioned.

I bet it was simpler than that - they couldn't get the voice actresses back. It would be nice to believe they were trying to avoid tainting the past, but I think Occam's Razor would indicate another explanation.

I have a thought abut 'Mycroft'. If this show is going to have a Mycroft character, I thought it would make sense that its his father, especially given the way he never makes meetings because 'important business' always comes up. Sounds like the kind of excuse a secret government  one-man think tank would offer.
