Oh, me too. I loved that show. In addition to all the stuff you guys mentioned, one of the things I loved about it was how the giant robot battles left permanent damage in the world around them. The scene in one of the early episodes where they are traveling through the city and see the huge crater left by the battle

Good point, and probably a safe bet.

I'm sure he can look back now and feel vindicated at what an improvement eight years of Reagan and four of GHW Bush was over Carter.

I always thought that his unalloyed glee at taking Marge down was, if nothing else, not in his best self-interest. I mean, don't the Simpsons provide like, 80% of the Qwik-e-Mart's business? Considering this is the man who looks back fondly on getting shot by Snake, you'd think he'd be more forgiving to Marge.

I stopped reading his recaps of South Park because honestly, I don't need any more deliberate attempts to undermine joy and sap humor out of day to day life. I stopped after the Mecha-Streisand episode. Reading that one was like talking to a dentist about the health benefits of soda-drinking.

I want to comment of the Grunkle Stan's Obliviousness issue.

You did see him trying to decide which spell from his book he'd use to destroy the Pines, right?

I wonder, does Stan realize that his contempt is exactly the sort of thing an up-and-coming Evil Genius like Gideon needs to fully eschatize his villainy? He does seem to hint that he thinks of Gideon as a semi-worthy foe who just needs a little more practice and some solid grounding (the kind he'd get if he got
