I think the flying worked here, but not in subsequent appearances. It became just too easy.

The location filming was actually done in West Sussex.
Considering the connection, Aardman should have done this one.
Were Penley and Storr the first gay couple on Dr Who? I wondered why Penley put up with Storr's behavior, and love is the only explanation I could think of.
It was a different animation company from The Invasion, which is odd, because I thought that the latter did a very good job.
I hadn't heard of those previously. There is no mention of them on the BBC web site.
The trouble is that the subplot of Leela falling in love only lasts a few seconds.
At least Jo seemed to actually like the guy.
I'd like to think that the blue crystals in Snakedance are related as well.
Most of the maggots seen at a distance were actually condoms filled with water.
As I recall, the maggot puppets had fox skulls for their jaws.
Indeed.
For example, it's not quite accurate to say that he didn't want any companion. He said that the ideal companion would be a talking cabbage that would rest on his shoulder.

I quite like that song about the mining disaster.
I'm wondering how anyone got knighted if the royal family had been executed.
I watched The Hunger in the apartment of a friend of a friend. Partway through, the phone rang, and the host answered. "We're watching David Bowie ch-ch-ch-changing."
I disagree with your premise. Marco Polo, Nero, Richard I, Odysseus, and Doc Holliday were real (or mythological) personalities.
I count 9 Hartnell historicals (Marco Polo, The Aztecs, The Reign of Terror, The Romans, The Crusade, The Myth Makers, The Massacre, The Gunfighters, and The Smugglers) and at least 5 of…
The American cause actually had some significant support in Britain.
