In all fairness, it's really difficult to advertise to the alt crowd because our standards of authenticity are rigid, sometimes anti-capitalist, and almost universally anti-commercial.  It's basically impossible for any attempts to advertise specifically to our demographic won't come off as cheap pandering because…

You mention your sci fi tastes include Tolkien, but Tolkien is NOT sci fi.  Tolkien is fantasy.  If there's magical talismans, or a magic sword, or wizards, or fucking crazy not real animals, or all these basic things that break the laws of reality, that shit's all fantasy.  I'm into hard sci fi, fantasy is bullshit.
