I remember having a crush on Denise Richards in grade school after Starship Troopers, and would go out of my way to watch Just Shoot Me for a while to see her.  It ended in like 8th grade when I saw The World is Not Enough and caught myself thinking "this movie is bad and she's at least partially the reason why."

I like to think that the moon landing was the closest thing the baby boomers had to what the boys in my class from 4th grade experienced in the shower scene in Starship Troopers.
