Because Denise assumes that she can beat anyone in a jury vote (rightly I think, Malcolm is the only threat). This means it is in her best interest to be telling everyone to keep the strong players even though I don't think she actually meant it.

I'm not sure I laughed once and the plot was really cliched and weak. I think the episode didn't work because it made the argument completely one-sided. Mindy was right and the guys were wrong.
