It could work though. At the very least I really enjoyed the Justin Kirk and Joanna Garcia scenes. The deadly combination of NBC and Tyler Labine means it'll probably last 3 weeks though.

So, only 2 miniseries Emmy's then?

I kind of liked the episode although mostly just because it ended all the terrible shit that had been happening all season. Kind of makes the first 9 episodes a waste but if it gets us a better last 4 then who cares.

I think most of the problem is that she got all the good finale stuff out of the way in season 6. Nancy finally realising she is hurting her boys, the boys deciding they don't need her, this should have been stuff for the final season. Season 6 would have been a great ending to Weeds.

I really haven't been able to enjoy Weeds since last season. Something about the way Season 6 wrapped up was so complete that I stopped caring what happened to any of them.

But 90% of being part of the AVClub is awkwardly sucking all of the air out of the room when you quote a show only to realise that was a deleted scene and then having to explain what a deleted scene is, how they differ from bloopers and, more importantly, why you watch them.

I'm certain NBC has someone on that right now.

@avclub-eac75edc18b8546c46893fe4b75ab995:disqus It's copying the same strategy Fox has used the last couple of years to launch Glee and New Girl to great effect.

Yeah, I was pretty shocked too. I assumed she had died.
