"..even the Journey song is deliberately chosen for the lyric "The music never ends, it goes on and on and on and on."

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

I agree and since it was really Artie's LAST story it was a nice way to go out. It was like Chase knew he would not have time for anymore Artie stories in 6b so he really sent him off well.

I never get the hate for "Chasing It."  It was foreshadowed well in advance and is key to Tony's entire "Decompensation" that Melfi predicted would happen to Tony after his shooting.

This was an excellent write-up.

I didn't start this!

I love that scene (as well as the entire episode "The Ride").  Paulie barely looks at her the whole time but just sits down and turns down Nucci's offer of cookies.  That slow zoom out of the window with the rustling of the trees/wind.  Just a beautiful moment.

I agree completely.  This was really the beginning of the end for Bobby.  What really makes the storyline silly is that I really doubt Bobby would risk actually fatally shooting the guy.  This is guy who has not shot anyone as we find out later in Sopranos Home Movies.

And bells!

Zach,

Zack,

I may need a life to too because I just watched it on youtube.  You're right, the total white screen is about 8 or 9 seconds and the total white from fade in to fade out is about 18 or 19 seconds.

He/she has a lot of supporters here, including myself.  Todd did give him "guff" in this review but never really articulated why.

I think you're missing the point of the thematic purpose of the final season and how they tie into the trees/wind motif.  The first part of 6a is about Tony's second chance reflected in the Finnerty trip.  6b is about how Tony squandered that chance.  The trees are reflective of that.

Thanks Worm. There goes that theory.  I though the name at least had something to do with death (Finnerty=finite) or eternity after you die (KevINFINNERTY=infinity).  I guess Chase just came up with the name for no special reason.

Maybe but i don't get the connection:  Crystal Monastery vs. Kevin Finnerty=Christopher Moltisanti vs. Tony Soprano.  I don't get the point because the events surrounding "Cleaver" hasn't happened yet.  Maybe it has to do with Tony having to answer for Adriana or a subconscious belief that Ade's murder will ultimately

In "Sopranos Home Movies" Carmela says Meadow has decided to be a pediatrician and is slightly disappointed because a radiologist makes more money.  But I agree that the law school stuff is there early on although it more has to do with her work at the law center and actually helping people (like the Muslim family she

Actually, to make it more obvious Chase should have had Bobby say in 'Sopranos Home Movies':

I mentioned this last week but I don't think the Finnerty stuff was exactly about where Tony would go after he dies.  I seriously doubt Chase would get THAT religious.  I think the trip is a warning to shape up or meet a bad end in THIS life.  Again, the stuff his coma doc tells him is the big key here.  Tony refers

I totally agree.  But that doesn't take away from the extended white screen from Tony's POV as coming back to life and the extended black screen as Tony's final death POV.  I would assume this was intentional but who knows. It works either way.
