Todd,
Todd,
Here is another one:

LOL. I guess i should have said it's very clear after reading it! Whether or not the cat was supposed to represent Ade's presence, it's still pretty clear that Tony's dead.
Tony's last words to Ade: "I will see you up there." Very spooky.
There is no way the FBI would not follow her in that small but critical period where she will try to get him to flip. It's stupid but I doubt Chase cares about such things. He doesn't exactly aim for Wire type realism.

I always loved the way Franki Valli has no reaction to Tony B. doing Gleason at the sit down with Angelo.
Wow, you really articulated for me what I felt about that whole final season. It sort of makes that final season really depressing. Masterofsopranos blog did a really similar discussion as well which I actually find a lot more convincing than some of his other more clue spotting stuff.
Totally disagree here. I think the coma dream stuff was all about Tony subconsciously wanting out; right down to his different wife and kids (his wife's voice is not Carmela's). I do get part of what you're saying though. He wants to get away from the stress and grief of life in the mob but doesn't want to give up…
My cousin does a mean Gleason!
Wow..nice memory!. The photo is still on the HBO site. Too bad they took it out of the episode. It's photo # 5 of 5.
Along with "In Camelot", this episode sort of starts the ball rolling on of Tony perhaps, at least subconsciously, figuring out that his father may have even been more responsible for his shitty life than his mother. You have Johnny Boy driving Tony (leading Tony) to the "job" (his life in crime) with the dead…
Nice recap but no mention of the brilliance of the scene between Tony S., Tony B. and Chris at the steakhouse? The dialogue, the lighting, the reaction shots are all top notch. Imperoli is terrific and there is a great reaction shot by Buscemi after Chris tells him "I could have called you Ichobod Crane." There was…
I think it really undermines Chase's work to call the ending scene an exercise in "clue spotting". Chase made it pretty obvious if you look a little closer. The editing/point of view pattern is enough to tell you Tony died. If fact, I'm not sure I would have seen it if it wasn't pointed out because I'm just not…
I admit that I find it fascinating that some people still resist the clear suggestion that Tony died in the final scene. They will always find some long winded explanation as to why the ending is ambiguous. Some of these people actually sound pretty smart which makes it even more perplexing. Why dispute the…
