Prose poems-Joyce; blog posts-DFW; academic writing-HP Lovecraft/EA Poe. I put in two different assignments I wrote in Russian and the first turned up as Agatha Christie and the next was Lewis Carrol. However, my paper for War and Peace identified my literary soulmate as being Tolstoy. I should take out the names next

The first that I saw was Solaris, and just fell in love with the 30 seconds of weightlessness scene; I love it how all his movies have moments of levitation.

I feel the same way about Jeff Tweedy. I'm 25 and he's quite a bit older, but he has a good way about conveying the age. I don't get the "dad rock" label (did Kansas ever try to induce migraines? No.); it just other people don't like it when musicians face up to the fact that they are "old".

Would you care to slather a bit more saliva onto pitchfork's dick?

I never knew that entertainment ever stood for anything. Thanks for the enlightenment, random troll person.

I think part of it is that Buffy relates a little more to Spike than people like Riley or Ben. For the others he's the racist dick that you hated in high school, but now he's ok to have around because he's a reminder of the good (or bad, rather) old days.

I would love to see…
a workplace sitcom that had Portia de Rossi as the boss. Oh wait, I already watched that show, and it got axed. Thanks a lot, random rumor-mongers, for picking those fresh scabs.

Does anyone think that's really Tarkovsky's AD up there? Normally his posts are comment version of the Great Wall of China.

@Jcrowemancer — for me it's the Disco2000 video.

What do the fanboys think of a Brit playing Spider-Man? Is their xenophobia as keen as their racism?

@silly buns holy fuck does that look terrible. JFC I wish I lived in a world where Kristen Bell is the ugly girl.

@Motherfucking Shore Patrol

There are some huge differences between the Great Divorce and the Left Behind books in that Lewis was interested how people really think and feel and applies a good amount of introspection to the first person narrator. Meanwhile the LB books are basically Revelation fan fic/snuff story, and the characters rank among

It's nice to see all the unregistered trolls coming out to trash The Incredibles, and they're wrong, as usual. The way that The Incredibles works as a criticism of Objectivism is that they recognize themselves as being special and talented, but only when it serves those around them, beginning with the family and then

Prescience of the moment caused me to release the waters of life.

For third best I'd say Get Smart, but it's been a while since I've watched it.

Mass doesn't really count since the only allusions someone from there would get would be allusions to the Red Sox. I have a few non-Southern friends who really like the show, but that mostly came with a lot of TVLand watching. I like it, but my introduction came during that one year I was living in Atlanta and TBS

I've been trying to get others to watch it as well, but with little luck. Everyone says that it's too much like the Office. It's difficult to refute it, since it's all the main writers and one of actresses.

@Debaser—it's not a rivalry if only one side ever wins.

Totally.
