lol, depression.  hit the gym, bitch, then tell me how much you hate your life.  i remember when we used to call this "laziness"

I recall in writing workshops the constant admonishment to allow your
prose to disappear, so that the narrative became an “illiterate
experience,” transcending the text itself, magnifying in ether (the
magnitude of all things communicated by nothingness, i.e. silence).

and anyway, anybody who waxes maudlinly rhapsodic about west texas has clearly never spent a substantial amount of time there.  it's hell

the mountain goats are great!  especially that one song…oh, what's it called…the one with the nasally vocals, earnestly strummed guitar and really forced, strained metaphors.

yeah, i think stick to gimmick twitter accounts from now on

@wykstrad:disqus this is news to you?

@davidkordahl:disqus thanks, dad.  i'm glad we had this talk

@davidkordahl:disqus why do you keep responding to me?

@davidkordahl:disqus why should i blog about them?  why can't i like what i like?  blogging is stupid.  who the hell cares what i think?  and, conversely, if i want to be mean, who cares?  i'm some asshole on the internet, no one cares.  i'm not "bruising" anyone

i like to read old, foreign (ie non-american) books i find in second-hand bookstores.  they're not hyped, they're not blogged-about.  some of them aren't any good, but a lot of them are.  someone ought to read them.  why not me

woof.  saunders is even more overrated than junot diaz, and that's saying something

"See that killer whale?  Lisa Lampanelli fucked only half of it!"
