The Strike Team procedural stuff was mostly pretty decent, but if I had to sit through one more scene of Claudette and Gumpy cat killer interrogating some shitty character played by an even worse actor, who would never be seen from again nor matter to the plot at all, I would've put a tire around my own neck and set

That's funny, I think your mother's down here ▼

I mentioned above, any BSG fans underwhelmed with the finale should definitely check out the super-extended version on the DVDs. The story has much more room to breathe (I think it's an extra half hour or so) and flows better logically.

Watch the DVD extended version of the BSG finale. It does wonders.

Whoa… I totally agree with you, but… Whoa.

@unicyclistperiscopes:disqus  - Fair point, to be done right, it should certainly be filmed in England, but maybe with a more "American" production schedule - 13 eps a year, new season every year, etc. like Game of Thrones.

@avclub-bca3531762af8a993c4f60c48fd5e33b:disqus what I was saying was that you could probably get about 6 episodes out of each novel, so 2 per season (they're pretty skinny). Maybe you would try and weave two of the novels' plots together somewhat each season, for an overall season arc, or maybe you do mini-seasons of

@avclub-bca3531762af8a993c4f60c48fd5e33b:disqus - Exactly this. I had the train scenes in From Russia with Love in mind when I was writing my post. Like you were saying, the naturalistic 60s spycraft stuff (but with modern production values and writing) would be fascinating.

"Let England Shake" and "Stories From the City, Stories From the Sea" are my two favorites of hers, and you're really doing yourself a disservice if you bail on the rest of her stuff.

Don't you mean Gaymazing?

NOOOOOO!!! You're doing it WRONG!

A cerebral, neo-noir science fiction anthology series based on The Science Fiction Hall of Fame short story compilations:

As a somewhat related aside, instead of rolling Harrison Ford's old bones out of bed for another embarrassing sequel, Disney should reboot Indiana Jones as an AMC style TV series with Nathan Fillion.

What about a Neuromancer adaptation? Or anything by Gibson, Sterling, or Stephenson?

I'd love to see a long-form, AMC style treatment of Ian Fleming's Bond books, more or less as they were written. Strip out a bit of the more problematic racial stuff, and get rid of some of the sillier elements, and it could be like Mad Men meets Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy.

The Alimony Tour he did a couple of years ago started with about 10 minutes of really great stand up of him complaining about his ex-wife:

Ass Ass Titties Titties Ass and Titties."
