I think the rule is that they never get involved. The few times they have gotten involved, it's been minor things to hurry the plot along. But it wouldn't be much of a documentary if they made a point of getting involved all the time. This reveal was different, I think, because it was meant to convey how serious that

I think that re-visiting the first season of a show that you have established feelings about is different than living through the first season live with no knowledge of the characters. I'm sure many people WOULD agree with you, but I'm sure there are just as many people who wouldn't.
And I don't think it's obvious that

I disagree with this grade.
That fight had me bawling. The Office has, for me, always been more than a regular sitcom. It's been a show about people I liked and cared about, even if they aren't normally people I would like in real life (just like at a real office!) When it's funny it's greatly so, but when it's sad

Yes! EVERYONE freaked out at Parks for being an "Office rip off". I remember this VIVIDLY. I was ENRAGED because I love AMY and I held out and was deeply REWARDED for my faith in her.
I'm not even waiting for this show to "get good" I think it IS good. I think a lot of first seasons are a mess but if you can make me

To people who make your argument I like to point out that I actually hated Community in its first season. Hated! I was like "I get it, TV, Joel McHale is sassy and good looking. I GET IT!" Luckily I stuck with it and they developed the other characters and I grew to like it.
30 Rock, I would say, didn't hit its major

This has been touched on by other commenters, but I'm gonna touch on it again! So there!

I was KIND of hoping he would've put the hard drive in Dougie's computer, but looking back, the Omar frame-up is far more frightening/interesting. Tyler just became kind of a scary dude, but, as the viewer, I love it.

I thought this episode was all about Tyler. The look on his face when he was standing in front of those servers explaining to Amy that he "took care of it" was downright bone-chilling. I hope we get to see more of this side of him going forward, that'd be a big step for the show to take.

So basically all the new NBC shows will be about people ending up with teenagers they don't want?

In the first season it would've been a little more believable because Alec Baldwin looked a little younger and Liz wasn't so firmly established as nearly asexual. I'm also glad they didn't do it because I agree it would've made the show so much less fun. I do get frustrated with shows that seem to think all the

That Daryl interview was the most Season1/2-ish thing to happen on the office since…. seasons 1 or 2. And when the basketball moment came, well, I haven't screamed with anticipated awkwardness like that at the TV in so long, I'd almost forgotten what it felt like. That was a classic Michael Scott move.

I don't know what's wrong with me, but I had no problem with Leslie's scheme to hide artifacts at the construction site. I spent most of this episode trying and failing to get behind their desperation to undo it. Maybe it's because I hate Jamm and love Leslie so much I would've been okay with her winning at any cost?

That and Tracy demostrating how he does whatever he wants by squirting ketchup everywhere. Amazing. I'm going to miss Tracy Jordan, a lot.

That line "But is it something I SHOULD have done?" sounded a lot like Tina Fey talking as a writer facing the end of her series and not Liz Lemon, and I loved that. I loved that I felt like I got to have a moment where Tina Fey kind of reflected on her own show to us. And Jack was right - it's a more interesting

Yes. When she patted the little girl directly on the face and went "There, there" I lost it. I similarly lack all maternal instinct. I often have to stop myself from accidentally talking to my toddler cousins like they are small dogs.

I agree. The response she got here to that joke on the Christmas episode where she referred to Bob Dylan as "Jakob Dylan's dad?!?" was interesting. One of the things I LOVE about the character of Mindy on this show is that she is pretentious in her bad/pop-culture driven taste. It's kind of anti-hipster, but therefore

I don't think it's a "do whatever the hell she wants" thing, I think it's more based in the fact that he knew Mindy when she wrote for The Office in its heyday, he trusts she has talent, and he's clever enough to realize some of the best sitcoms weren't at their prime right out the gate. It's nice that he's giving her
