Condolences to Chris on his father's death (reported in NYTimes today). I remember the Nerdist episode Chris did with his father — it was rightfully included in that week's Podmass. Complicated, interesting guy, and an amazing interview by his son.
I saw them together too, it's a great way to track Herzog's stylistic call backs and see how Kinski made the character his own; no small trick, since his appearance was so closely based on Schreck's original.
In other words, he is the anti-Ron Burgundy ;)
