The decision made sense to me- they knew they could U-turn the grandparents and that they'd likely still be in no danger of losing as a result. If they were uncomfortable with the idea of ending someone's game with a U-turn (which seemed to be the case), they made the exact right choice.

The mock-asian pidgin and the patronizing attitude in Malawi both made me pretty uncomfortable. Still, doubt they'll make it much further- they're getting the classic lovable 4th placer edit.

Got to think that Ernie & Cindy are the favorites down the stretch- they've gotten the hero edit, they're being presented as likable- they even got the "ethical dilemma" screentime with points added for back and forth. The Dudez would be in front but for the from-nowhere Christian righteousness angle + growing…
