I got the impression that at least the club area changed its era theme every few weeks. Given that it's VR, it's not entirely clear why you can't just have 80s, 90s, and 00s instances running simultaneously, but then there'd be no obvious reason for Yorkie to look in different decades. And there'd probably be too

Yes. I don't know the actress, and thought the character might be intended to be trans for the first ten minutes or so of the episode.

I don't need to— it's been in my head since then.

That's what it looked like. Which is a little surprising, since the comics version had internal metal enhancements for super-strength, agility, etc., which is a pretty TV-budget friendly power. (Either he exposits it or he gets wounded and we see a bit of his metal endoskeleton.)

She said that first, but later she acknowledged that he was a hero, but still not a superhero.

That was John Byrne's read, which they then ran with for the Cadmus clone Superboy. But shoring up one form of rubber physics with another is more an aesthetic choice than an explanation.

And fine, she's a fifth degree black belt without it (I'm not sure "degrees" are that old, and I'm pretty sure that martial arts ranks weren't common knowledge in the US in 1942 so you'd think she'd feel the need to explain more, but leave that aside). Ray's a billionaire genius who's been at this stuff for years now,

Though while I entirely respect the choice to use the JSA brownstone, I do sort of wish they'd wedged in the All-Stars' Trylon and Perisphere headquarters.

Yeah, Vixen's whole thing about Ray not being a superhero is bizarre when more than half of the JSA, including her, depends on items rather than having inherent powers. (And Doctor Mid-Nite's are pretty minimal unless they've beefed him up.)

Yeah, I did a double take on that one too. It reminds me of the classic Captain America monologue:

He did.

That's an awful lot of forethought and planning for our Barry.

Or at least a Barry Allen. Whatever the version who got his powers in 2020 was like, our Barry doesn't really look to be developing mad software engineering skills.

It is a shame that we only got two actual Golden Age JSA members, and one of them was killed at the end of the episode. (Though what with time travel, that's not to say we've seen the last of him.)

Maybe Alchemy can offer to turn John Jr. into Sara.

Fair enough. I've only read the Alan Moore Vigilante stories, and they didn't make much impression on me. All superheroes are a genre convention away from being something very scary, especially the ones who kill, but I tend not be be a fan of the Punisher end of things in any case.

For that matter, since she didn't really seem to upgrade her lifestyle or make any big purchases other than bankrolling Team Arrow (which may have been misappropriated corporate funds rather than her salary): how many years would a year or so of a Fortune 500 CEO's compensation last her? ("Oh, dear, I only have

DA (and later judge) fighting crime as a masked hero in his off time from fighting crime seemed a bit nuts.

It's the only one I rewatch. But I still hope Disney eventually releases one at a halfway-modern resolution.

You forgot to press the "Enhance" button.
