Vixen is a cool character on JLU, and she's written with some depth in the few scenes she has. But, I think it's problematic to have one of the very few female African-American heroes sporting what can only be described as "jungle powers." That taps into a whole mess of issues.

I tried explaining to my gf why Korrasami is a big deal, and how they're cranking it up this season. She didn't say anything, but from the look in her eyes, I knew I'd lost her forever.

Korra has no fighting style. Just to get it out of the way, I adore the show and its predecessor. Ok? Same team? Good. Now. The vast majority of Korra's "moves" are throwing punches/kicks laced with the various elements. Contrast this with just about every other Avatar we've seen. Hell, contrast it with every

I like that too, but it got me wondering. Why is Thor any more worthy than Cap? The movies set Thor up as noble, but unquestionably flawed (arrogant, etc). Cap has been nothing but selfless. Also, kill me.

I resolved to read the collected volumes, rather than going issue by issue. It's torture.

Some idiot always picks this for karaoke, not realizing how tedious it is. It's mildly amusing to see even the singer get bored half way through. To wit:

GTAV - The game itself was terrific, but the characters in Franklin's cutscenes used the n-word so many times, that it became extremely embarrassing. At one point, my gf even said "What the fuck are you playing?" She wasn't made at me, just disgusted with the game. It was too, but I didn't stop.

It gave me the Cherlene album, which is terrific.

I doubt it. I haven't read the comics, but the story summary is nigh incomprehensible. Two Adam Warlocks, pocket realities, galaxies erased from existence and brought back, the heart of the universe, etc. It would be mighty ambitious to even try to condense it. I bet Thanos will just sit in his rocket chair and

I just read about this yesterday! My gf and I saw Guardians of the Galaxy, and then read Thanos's back story over beers. When she read that Thanos wanted to destroy all life in the universe to win Death's love, she emitted a little "Aw!"

This is silly. TLA had tons of moral complexity (Zuko, Azula, the Dai Li, Aang's pacifism) and you're faulting LoK for expanding on those themes. In fact, season 2 of LoK had a fairly generically villain (and one who was most similar to Ozai), and it was by the far the weakest.

"Teacher Zaheer" is exactly what the scene was meant to convey by positioning him on a hill above Korra, as she sat listening below him.

Yeah - the Disney Afternoon was a pretty big deal. I didn't think it could get any better than when they added Darkwing Duck, and I was right. Goof Troop was a disappointment. And then Bonkers. Christ. I don't think afternoon TV got good again until Animaniacs. (Though I don't recall when exactly Batman TAS ran.)

The scene were Ewan McGregor reads the inspirational note in the Dove chocolate is his best acting to date.

Yeah…I'm getting a weird Rapture vibe.

Yes. I pumped my fists wildly at that little nugget, and was maybe a bit embarrassed. Even more interesting (though less fan service-y) is the fact that Toph apparently has two daughters from two fathers, and though it's not explicitly stated, I got the impression that she wasn't married at the time. In any case,

Guys, guys, guys. It was clearly a glaive.

Sleigh Bells - Rill Rill

Absolutely. Again, SPOILERS…It's only when Don and Bobby go to see Planet of the Apes, and Don witnesses his son 1) having his mind blown ("Jesus!") and 2) being nice to another person that he seems to realize that Bobby is actually a little person, and not just a prop in his own life.

Don is a master at compartmentalizing, as he admits to Rachel when he says he just doesn't think about it. To him this is a strong-suit. To everyone else it's horribly cruel. SPOILERS. When Rachel rejects him later, one of the ways she tries to force him to stop compartmentalizing is by invoking the fact that he
