I've actually thought about this a lot (how sad is that). I think it's more than just parents because they've all been shown at various points to be capable of blending in when they need to. But when they falter, they usually just give up and dive headlong into insanity (last week's episode comes to mind).

My only problem with this episode is that everyone thought the bowl of cereal was weird. I see literally nothing wrong with eating a bowl of cereal while driving, though putting it in a cup is by far the best way to go.
