Doakes died in a… fire. The final villain of the season is an… arsonist. At this point, fuck it. I would love to see Doakes come back. I don't really care about the believability of the show at this point; if it's interesting I'm down!

I feel like this season has been killing it. Definitely one of my favorite seasons. The show has become even more self aware and willing to experiment; those experiments being almost entirely successful. I'd put it's worst episode in A- territory.

I've only done a bit of research but I'm starting to see a correlation between the quality of the cold open, and the review score of The A.V. Club. This cold open was lackluster.

It's not widely known or critically acclaimed, but I feel like it
explains the younger mindsets of Tarantino and Rodriguez; explains their
later movies in a way. It was also a badass movie.

When I introduce people to new shows I usually start with 'Season 1 is good but it gets amazing as the show goes on.' Dexter follows the exact opposite of this formula. But hey, if they are gearing up for a strong finish hell yeah I'm down for that journey.
