Terrestrial radio has the same problem of awful, annoying ads, so I guess I shouldn't complain. But somehow it's more jarring and unexpected when they pop up on Spotify. Was listening to Tapestry by Carole King, "You've Got a Friend" finishes and the next second: "GET IN THE ZONE! AUTO ZONE!"

"Murder One" did it first, right? Well there was Twin Peaks, but that was a miniseries and also not a procedural. Was such a pain to watch anything serial pre-DVR; had to be diligent about programming your VCR.

Yes! So awful. I wouldn't know if this show was actually good, because those Spotify ads make it sound terribly unfunny.

Almost every comedian branches out into other media beyond their act.

If she thought she had >50% chance of knowing the answer, based on the category, then it would be smart to wager money. However, the error bar on her confidence of knowing it probably tempered the amount she was willing to wager. I thought it was a totally sane and defensible bet.

I agree with classical music if I'm doing work I have to really concentrate on. Classical guitar is also great in that it's especially mellow and soothing. C.f. the best of Andres Segovia album.

I always mix up Timothy Hutton and Tom Hulce in my head.

Every single scene he has is a delight.

Interesting, although in Flaming Moe's, Moe stole Homer's invention and became rich and famous from it, shutting Homer out. In real life, Simon and Groening worked together on the Simpsons and both became fabulously wealthy from it, though Groening got most of the fame. And Groening, while ceding much of the creative

Her eyes are like an anime character's or something. They don't look real. (I mean this in a good way).

Matt Saracen's face when he sees his father's (implied) lack of a face in the casket. Oof.

And her obsession with him is probably mostly because he's a Democrat and a slick-grinning silver fox type.

Most comedians' material is about themselves. Introspection is pretty key to the art form.

In Mega Man X, there was an extra frame(s) of sprite animation between standing and peak jumping. An intermediate jumping frame. It made it look like MegaMan was doing the Karate Kid crane stance. I'd try to time my jump through the boss door so that he'd freeze right on that frame.

I like triangle as "cancel" or "back" or "menu", since it's the button your thumb has to move the most to hit.

Looks like mid-90's era 3d animation, like "Reboot". All awkward and herky-jerky and simplistic facial expressions.

Or cyborg? Or human with some electronic parts added on? The other hyoomans have gills, but when Finn felt underneath her hat in her first appearance, all we know is that he felt something surprising. Turns out it's a circuit board?

I think it's cheap to use a music video to criticize a song. Who cares about the videos? It's not 1985 anymore. I agree with the author that Ho Hey is "fine."

I remember when first watching the Snake Juice episode, what struck me was the frankness of a big network sitcom depicting the main characters as adults that actually sometimes get truly wasted (and hungover). You didn't see that much before the late 2000's. Most family sitcoms didn't depict alcohol at all. Cheers

I'd forgotten that H. Jon Benjamin voiced Jason as well. Such a brilliant departure from his typical, more recognizable voice.
