Yeah, plus the whole ideal of anarchy can't even really exist among intelligent lifeforms for very long. People would quickly form roaming tribes, tribes would merge or conquer other ones until they got big enough to start forming strongholds and cities and kingdoms again.

He's always been into black magic and communicating with the underworld, but we haven't known for what purpose. Maybe he uses his powers and connections for good - to serve the good of the candy kingdom. Like when he got Death to release Finn & Jake.

Well there have been episodes in which a Simpson family member tags along, but isn't really the focus of the story at all. Like when Selma marries Troy McClure, various Apu episodes, Krusty reconciling with his father, etc.

I am withholding judgement on this episode until I see if they follow it up. Peppermint Butler definitely came off as a villain, and they didn't really reveal any backstory as to either character's motivation. If they don't pick up the thread later, then this was just a very well-animated episode that ultimately was

Thanks. I had actually totally assumed that picture was for "In The Kingdom of Ice"

It would be useful if you captioned the headline picture.

Having seen this episode probably 12 times, but never in the last 10 years, I was delighted in watching the clips and having so many of the jokes hit me like they were new.

Yes. Is there a word for negative nostalgia? Because that's what this song does for me. Memories of awkwardly sitting in the bleachers watching other people dance.

She's right about the Chicago alt comedy shows. There's a zillion of them, and they're almost all more interesting - and a lot cheaper - than the mainstream comedy club. They are sometimes hit-or-miss…you have be okay with occasionally being in an audience of 12 people, or seeing someone bomb on stage or trying out

Too fat, fat you must cut lean.
You got to take the elevator to the mezzanine,
Chump, change, and it's on, super bon bon
Super bon bon, Super bon bon.

Some of them, like I am the Walrus, are just nonsense for nonsense's sake, like scat singing or something. John Lennon admitted this - he just picked words that sounded weird and euphonious. The ones that offend me more are ones that are presented as an actual, meaningful lyric, but are misguided or empty. Like many

What adult human is delighted by reading the term "SkinnyLicious" on a menu? The kind of adult that frequents a Cheesecake Factory, I suppose. I can't stand cutesy menu item names.

It's cool that you can see the rough draft pencil-work behind the ink. How do they clean it up for publication?

Figuring the cost of the outfit on the calculator watch was what really killed me.

Loved that they sung along to Ants Marching by imitating Dave Matthew's donkey-braying singing voice. HEE-HAW-HEE-HEE-HEE-HAW-HAW

I kinda wish I had been able to experience the shock of that without knowing that it was coming. People in these comments and elsewhere put together the ominous clues to the forthcoming loss of his arm…I probably would never have noticed them otherwise. Similarly, I read about Ooo's post-nuclear war status back in

I don't mind some offensive racial humor, but it's usually best if it's coming out of the mouth of a character we're supposed to dislike, or if it's being used to portray the wrongness of the racism. The quadroon joke just seemed like using a racial term for nothing more than shock value.

I miss Jake, and episodes where Finn & Jake team up. I know sometimes it's funny to have Jake be all lazy while Finn is gung-ho. And it might be purposeful, if Jake is aging in dog years and now he's like a 40 year old man? So their life priorities are diverging? But it seems like they haven't been on the same
