With me it's the actress. I think the character was written as lacking in social graces and she has a few good emotional moments, but generally she's just not in the same league as the rest of the cast. I think that even Jake Austin Walker's acting feels more real in the rare moments we see him.

And yay for a European fan too!

Yay for another Aussie here!

Regarding the dance, I'd like to disagree that it wasn't sexual. Slow dancing is very much a form of making out for women. In fact, the way the actress delivers 'I wanna dance with you', it sounds like she admits she has some sexual pull to Daniel.

I must be the only person on here not enamored with Abigail. IMO, she's simply not on par with the breathlessly natural style of the rest of the onscreen family. She has a mainstream Hollywood style that's out of place here.

Me too! I'm so glad I've discovered like minded passionate Rectifiers after scouring the web for months to find an in depth discussion board. I feel like shouting from the rooftops over how great it is and it has barely any Internet presence!

He did sincerely try to have a go at big time Hollywood when he was very young but despite executives falling all over him to make him into the Next Big Thing, he left it bitterly disappointed and went back home. I sincerely hope he doesn't pull the same stunt again after Rectify. Seriously, he just can't do that to

"Maybe we will get less enthusiastic with the passing of time because that’s the way things go."

Yes, we Aussies rock! ;-)

I know - right? Maybe we should kick AY off the show and send him to do 3D horror sequels cause he's too pretty. Let's get an uglier lead so we can take him seriously!

He's a complete knock-out. I thought 'classically handsome' was a dead concept on American screens before he showed up. AY manages to make death row uniform look hot…

Aden spent most of his career doing great work in Australian stuff - he found Hollyweird too silly apparently. There's a 2001 Aussie film called Serenades where he plays a 19th century German missionary and there's a scene where he talks about the transcendence of great music in the same inspired philosophical way

It is and he's still gorgeous! Seriously, I rewind and watch certain Rectify scenes on loop (especially S1) just to watch his amazing features. The Brad Pitts of this world have nothing on this guy. My copy of Cousin Bette is on its way to do more gawking ;-)
