Are You My Mummy?

@rev_skarekroe:disqus yep, kinda like that time some college asked Andy Dick to perform, then tried to sue him for performing blue material.  they expected NewsRadio's Matthew, not Andy's usual routine.

Then who was that woman in plains dress at my friend's place I saw on two different occasions when we were the only ones there?  Or I have seen stuff moving across the room and I live alone?  Or chased multiple families out of a local house, including a friend, who my aunt has known for twenty years since his kids

Like I said above, the reporter who turned his story into the book, which was then turned into the movie bullshitted his way through everything and everyone listened to HIM, not the Lutz family.

Awesome?

@avclub-a8bb1c36715b6baaaf59598c0939b141:disqus the book wasn't pure fiction, but the reporter/author DID dramatize the hell out of what happened, which was then "Hollywood-ized" further.

Especially since Ben was there to celebrate ratting out his old dealer, then sees Cooper with another bottle of pills?  Is he now going to their Chief/Watch with a suspicion Coop is using again?  He was grateful to Ben for making him go clean, but this would be the ultimate betrayal, esp as it would be on a false

I don't think Sammy will, but Tammy?  Definitely.  I'd bet she'll also try and take Nate and Sammy with her, too.  Even if it's just Nate, she'll know it will tear Sammy up to the point he might, too.

Also they did get a bit meta.  I expected this to be a Lydia-lite ep, since Regina was directing, and they did show it WAS a "light day" for her and Ruben when she asked her CO if there was any more for them before lunch, but they still gave her a fair share of the episode.  I imagine Regina barely had time to breathe

@TMJW:disqus yep, that's how we lost Nate to True Blood, keeping both balls in the air, but it was his own decision to keep on with TB, as SL was still on shaky ground.  Too bad he got killed off both shows in the same year. OOPSIE!
(of course, he can always reappear on TB to LaLa.)

Yep.  I only know about this due to the fact I hit the main SouthLAnd IMDb page and saw the newsbite.  All that said was that Ben is just doing "busy work" and his main priority is still SouthLAnd. Not much different than any other TV actor getting another gig between shooting seasons.

"he's a jerk, but he's OUR jerk."

Why? Sammy only talked to Victor. or tried to.

I'm Team Cudlitz (probably because he's who I've had more interaction with on social media), but Sammy could be Cooper's mirror.  Reserved guy, keeping everything private vs the "heart on his sleeve" guy.  They're more alike than either knows. (okay, maybe Ben if he bothered to care about someone else.)

OMG YES!
That kid had NO CLUE what he did and was surprised when Ruben started barking orders.  I was rolling!

While I caught the scarred leg (why else was it out?), I think that there is a small chance that McRaney may have been the officer he saved.  I'd probably put it 80% Dewey, 10% McRaney, 10% someone else that either/both knew and may have seen Cooper save them.  an old partner of Dewey, perhaps?

Ben knows.  He already suspected and dropped hints like comparing a gf's music to kd lang in s1, but Cooper basically admitted it in s2 after his friend's funeral, saying he saw him "at the bars" and such.

Nah, Dewey's not his type.  Besides, think of all those after-shift showers that will be filled with awkward looks, now.

Cudlitz AND King for directing this ep! With a nod to Zack Whedon's script, as well.

Damn, you did a good review and I can't pick it apart this time, esp after last week where they left several semi-important bits of info unanswered.
