Okay, in my heart-of-hearts I would love it if Latrice won (I'm still not sold on Sharon. I think she's good, but she reads more as a runner up to me. This season's Raven, only without a nemesis.) I'm just not sure if a big queen can actually take the prize, so I'm not getting my hopes up. Though if it's not Latrice,

Shangela and Willam would either completely cancel each other out, or they would have a kind of crazy alliance that would make for some awesome television.

I'm assuming Tyra won't be back after that weed arrest back in August.

That was a very, very stiff lip sync for your life. I was seriously worried that Willam was going to sashay away this week. Fortunately Jiggly lost a lot of steam about halfway through.

Fred & Carrie as Bert & Ernie was pretty perfect, basically one shot that perfectly sums up the relationship there.

This episode definitely took full advantage of all the bits of world-building Portlandia has done so far. It was fun playing "match the extra to the sketch they were in".

Ed Begley Jr in hipster gear was definitely worth a good laugh.

KUT, Austin's NPR affiliate, has what is easily the best oldies show in the world, Twine Time. It's all R&B, rockabilly, early rock&roll, and all the other party/dance music from the 40s to the 60s. It's on Saturday nights from 7-11, and has become popular enough that it's helped inspire a craze for old R&B in the

Gurl, did you hear Milan talking about how Kevin Aviance was her inspiration during Untucked? If you know anything about the drag scene, you do NOT talk about being inspired by Kevin Aviance in front of RuPaul (and vice versa). I think that had at least as much to do with Milan's elimination as the third strike.

I believe Ovation is a digital cable channel, one of those that isn't part of the standard cable packages, but comes in if you get digital cable. (Where all of the stuff they cover in TV Outland comes from.)

Ghost in the machine. Spooky. (At least the typo on Titanium Physicists got fixed. Odd that the one on How Did This Get Made is still there. Obviously we need to consider that the first letter in "The AV Club Code". Collect all the clues and we'll discover that Rabin's the last scion…)

Ovation was on my Favorite Channels list before I cut my cable subscription. It's an absurdly great station. It's basically the only reason I would even consider paying for cable again. Unfortunately, it's pretty much the definition of "television for people who don't own televisions".

I know it's late, but the typos are a bit distracting (under How Did This Get Made & Titanium Physicists).

I think Williams is just trying really hard to make sure he doesn't get sent any screeners next season.

The transition from the real game footage to the obvious soundstage where they shot that scene was awkward. I can't really tell if they meant it to be like that or not.

Sharon's vocal changes are nothing to brag about. Neither is her character work. It's not even just being in poor taste, it's all the same riffs on a pretty narrow camp-horror aesthetic. I completely expect her to do an Elvira, Marilyn Manson, or spooky-goth version of some major celeb for the Snatch Game next week

According to some T spilled at some other sources, they're just in very lame motel somewhere in Culver City, sequestered without any media, and with an intern staying at the door overnight to make sure no one sneaks out or anything. I think letting them have at least that time off-camera is probably the one thing

@avclub-4c22933415130955839224009df8641f:disqus Sure, Sharon is better than Phi Phi, but that's damning with faint praise. Compare her to Raja, and you can see just how short she falls. The only really creative look she's pulled off was the Thierry Mugler-inspired gold-and-silver outfit with the plastic hairpiece.

Honestly, though, I have to agree with him. Sharon is extremely limited and it is getting tired. The fact that she's the only serious genderfucker/hyperqueer-type out there (now that princess has been rightly dropped) seems to be winning her some undeserved support. Compare her to Raja from last season, whose
