Never mind that all that stuff was common

I *love* Late Spring. That last shot of the father slicing up the apple kills me, every time.

Disagree that DFW was just "writing for writing's sake." Underneath all the footnotes and flights of rhetorical whimsy, there's a depth of compassion and warmth for the human experience that I don't find in many other writers. I like How Did This Get Made better, though, simply because it doesn't feel like all of the hosts are assholes. If something works well in an otherwise terrible movie, HDTGM will at least acknowledge it. There's none of that on WHM (at least the two episodes I tried, about "Phantom Menace" and "Men in Black 2"). It's

"Hey, Lars? During that last take for the threesome, I think the camera caught a glimpse of my penis. Don't wanna mess up the softcore version! We'd better do another take, just in case." —Shia the Beef, actor/douchebag
