Yeah, I actually tend to be one of the more sensitive-about-spoilers types, but at this point I don't think "Psycho" *can* be spoiled anymore. All the Norman-Bates jokes, the fame of the shower scene … hell, there's a "Far Side" cartoon which practically gives away the ending twist. There's no excuse for being so

Started watching "The Pacific" on Friday night. Seems like it'll be good, though the first episode was pretty shaky compared to "Band of Brothers." The only character I can readily identify by name so far is the one played by the Jurassic Park kid, and that's only because he's played by the Jurassic Park kid.

Second vote for Arthur. It had an episode that parodied "South Park" and "Dr. Katz," fer cryin' out loud.

Translation:
"I'm taking my ball and going home!"

I watched the first "Terminator" movie on Saturday afternoon. I've now seen every film in the series except for "Rise of the Machines," and I guess I just don't get what the big screaming deal is. The final reveal of the metal skeleton at the end was still pretty cool, though.

Can we all at least agree that, regardless of our feelings about the UK Office Christmas Special, the US Office has been in the toilet for a while now? If there's one show that betrayed its early seasons and squandered great characters for the sake of longevity, it's that one.

But all pop culture is "low art" and Jersey Shore is part of pop culture therefore blah blah blah

Chris Mincher is insane. The UK Office Christmas episodes were great. I think he's being way too simplistic in his reading of the specials, too. It's not all happily-ever-after; sure, the special ends on a high note, but the show makes it pretty clear that the future isn't all roses for the characters. Tim is still

Wait a minute, so this manager gets a message from Weird Al, makes him jump through a bunch of hoops over the course of a few weeks, flatly rejects him at the end of it all, and not once does Lady Gaga catch wind of all this? I mean, this isn't some random Internet yahoo trying to slap together a parody for his crappy

Well … they COULD make a fine film. They haven't made something on this level for decades.

Man, that picture
Mark Twain looks piiiiissed to be brought back from the dead just to help out one lousy amnesiac.

That line reading was so bad I think it gave me cancer!

To be fair to your friend, Winston Smith, the Kindle is more like a portable bookcase if you're using it right. But your point about umbrellas still stands.

I'm Comic Sans, Asshole:

It seems like the biggest problems with the film (based on that clip) don't have as much to do with the direction as with the thuddingly obvious script (written, I assume, by the director) and the terrible child actors. The script seems especially egregious. Even a good director couldn't have made something good with

My girlfriend is a typography nerd, and I'm just beginning to learn how widely derided Comic Sans is in that world. Those opening credits may have opened my eyes to the thinking behind that attitude. It just looks cheap and amateurish.

HOLY SHIT, i and 1, I remember Lunatic Fringe! It was the only real computer game besides Carmen Sandiego that my family had on our Macintosh LC, and I played the crap out of it when I was supposed to be writing my high school English papers instead. What was your high score?

Another vote for Coleman Francis as Worst Director Ever. At least you can laugh at Ed Wood and Tommy Wiseau movies. Coleman Francis's are just excruciatingly dull, probably because they take themselves so completely seriously. Even MST3K can't fully redeem him.

The Toy Story 3 baby doll was especially offputting to me because one of my sisters had a doll just like it. It had the same messed-up eye and everything.

I am the owl of cancer. So there's that.
