Me too. Maybe there's something wrong with me, but I've always liked Gillian.

Season 1's probably the worst season, at least in the beginning. I watched it on DVD after following Season 2 and found that, tonally, it seemed to go through some growing pains before getting into the groove for the later half of the season. Really wasn't until then that if felt like Boardwalk Empire to me.

Yeah, that sounds about right.

Yeah, I read your uncle's book, being such a huge fan of the show, and I found it really interesting and enjoyed it a good deal. I like how it charts the entire history of Atlantic City up till today. You'll have to tell him its got its fans. Anybody who's a fan of the show oughta check it out.

Yeah, that's kind of where I am too. I think because of my personality I always gravitate toward the main character anyway, and in this case Nucky's no different, but I look at a guy and in a way I do want to be him. He's just got this quiet confidence, always in control, dressed to the nines, always in charge. And

Yeah, that was probably my first exposure to Joan. My aunt had to tell me dot matrix was a printer, or something.

Yeah, that's one of the things I admired about Joan. She never quit; she just kept going.

Oh man, love Joan. Hate to see her go.

You've got the Houdini mystery series by Daniel Stashower. Never got around to reading it, but I used to have one of them. Don't know if they're any good or not.

You know, I often wonder what Superman III's reputation is. I never much cared for it, but it's only climbed in my estimation. I think it boils down to this: it's about as good as it could possibly be using the elements it chooses to use. Meaning, a meal's only gonna be as good as the ingredients you use. Superman III

Similar experience with me. Saw them back in January of 2007 at a little casino in Tunica, MS of all places. Not a lot of people there, and frequently, any time the band slowed down, you'd hear requests of "Hey Jealousy." You could just kind of feel them groan inwardly. I can't imagine how soul crushing that must be.

I remember buying the album they put out around 2006 and thinking it was pretty solid. I mean, it wasn't like what they were doing in their heyday, but solid nonetheless.

Oh man, I fucking love Allison Road.

Nice. Didn't know that. Also didn't know that about the circumstances leading up to dude's suicide.

My best friend was pretty taken aback awhile back when he heard a DJ on the radio refer to Jimmy Eat World as a one hit wonder. Told me he was so flabbergasted he almost had an accident. I don't know how anybody could misconstrue Jimmy Eat World as a one hit wonder.

I fucking love this song. Love the part where it's all like, they know you're name and they know what you're about.

Guess the thing I liked about Gorner was the hand thing, which is certainly like the movie version of Dr. No. (Can't remember if he had a weird hand in the book or not.) Even when I hated Devil May Care the first time, I absolutely loved the scene where Gorner's like, I see you staring at my hand Mr. Bond, would you

Glad to hear. Maybe I need to give it another chance.

That show looks terrible. Think they cancelled Small Town Security, which was fucking great. Didn't help that they buried season three at midnight.

You know what, hearing everybody talk about Rubicon actually makes me want to watch it, only it's not on DVD. I was at Wal-Mart last night and noticed they had Low Winter Sun on DVD. Why that and not Rubicon? I guess I could stream it, but I'd rather watch it on DVD.
