I noticed that on rewatch and loved that choice by Gillian. Awesome.

I agree. Didn't NBC used to do those 38 minute ultra-episodes every once in a while? I know the Office has a few. This one was tailor made for the extra time.

I think with a few rewatches over the course of the week this will vault right into my top 5. I can't believe how many threads were weaved into the dreamatorium sequences, all of it ultra heavy character stuff filtered through the perspective of 2 characters whose perspective we really don't see much of. Annie has

Alison Brie should win all awards for all things for her performance tonight. Such a good Annie episode. As Todd mentions above, we really needed one.

I concur. The first twenty minutes were so damn hard to follow. Once Annie and Abed got down to brass tax, all my effort to keep up with the dreamatorium sequences felt so worthwhile.

And she can take it. Britta doesn't get up in arms and isolate herself further from the group ala Pierce, nor does she turn on her cutesy girlish charms to make people feel bad like Annie. She just owns her dorkiness, turns it into a political statement, and keeps on keeping on, no harm done.

He was writing his true feelings about her in a text, knowing that would turn her off. What about that might make a person excited?

SOURFACE! Thank you for reminding me of that joke, I laughed so hard at that.

Awesome post. I also enjoyed the comment upthread about Jeff and Shirley's dynamic as people of similar age, one of is crushingly insecure about essentially every facet of his life, and the other who is one the whole pretty content with herself, despite some concerns about her role within the group. Jeff doesn't need

Despite Britta being blatantly manipulative, I found Annie's reaction to Britta's "sister" chat awfully sweet. I feel like oftentimes the two of them are posed as simply antagonists, with Britta doing something ridiculous and Annie being a brat about it (I'm thinking specifically of "if loving worms is dumb, then I

How AWESOME was that when she accused Tranniebed of being The Opposite of Batman!?

I've not seen a single minute of this show until tonight, and really it's just on in the background. But Ted Beneke and Real Neil? Might be worth it just for the guest stars.

He's REAL, man. Not fat Neil. Real Neil.

I'm not paying 100% attention, but is Real Neil feeling suicidal for being the fat kid in this episode of Awake?

This is one of my favorite episodes of the season. Such great character work, such great pairings- Britta and Annie never get enough time to bond and Shirley/Jeff is guaranteed excellence- and really, really funny jokes, including every single thing Jim Rash did. The third act was set up well by the 2 preceeding it,

I can't take Pierce in AD&D. I understand why he's being so nasty, but he is just such an over the top bastard that I can't watch it. I love, love, love that episode and I appreciate the S2 Pierce arc as a whole, but that will never be my favorite Community episode despite its obvious merits specifically because of

With the same preface that Britta/Subway was one of the best storylines of EITHER episode, I have to give the nod to PB.

You can get the whole set used on Amazon for 27 bucks! Do it. Don't even bother downloading them, the boxset has so many awesome goodies.

One of my favorite scenes from the show, and it comes to mind every time I hear that song. Considering we listen to classic rock radio in the rehab gym about 6 hours a day, I hear it a lot. Poor Sam. Just took him a little too long to grab Cindy for his slow dance.

Christ, I've already got too many TV shows I'm in the middle of. Now I need to break from all of them for another F&G rewatch so I'm fresh on each episode.
