It's an enduringly popular quick lunch among office workers in Japan. It also has some of the best commercials.

Shh. We're trying to have a temper tantrum here, and you're ruining it with facts.

So…there's not enough focus in the first half of the game, but the second half is too linear?

They actually took out all of Mushnik's singing for the movie. Was Vincent Gardenia just shy about his singing voice, or what?

My five year-old is a hardcore fan of the 1986 musical. Somehow he found the original Roger Corman movie on the internet and watched it all the way through. It seemed . . . less good, but at least he stuck through it until the end.

You mean . . . he likes his kids better than his work? That's not very American of him at all.

Edgy.

For better and worse, yeah. I don't feel right blaming it, exactly, but it has a lot of shitty imitators.

It was probably better in its original context. It doesn't even seem particularly edgy now, but boy was it back then. At the time, it was new and fresh. Now, it has to contend with literally every procedural on CBS, which has the exact same plot, and with Mad Mikkelsen's pretty much superior take on the character. I

Now bend over.

Never far, if you believe in yourself and are willing to look for it.
