Oh, Florida. Without you, how would we know what the worst possible decisions are?

Oh, they are crazy powerful. But when paired against superheroes who can literally warp reality, they are outmatched. And as I recall, the Defenders usually fought supernatural threats in the comics.

He seems like a fun guy. I'm not being sarcastic at all when I say that, either.

You're right. US attorneys troll state prisons to find convicted felons who had guns at the time of their arrests. It's an easy conviction for them and it gets their stats up. A federal judge once told me that the VAST majority of her criminal trials were "felon-with-a-gun" cases.

Even in cases where it makes sense (like the Black Panther), it makes me uncomfortable when African and African-American superheroes have codenames that begin with "Black." I second the motion to change these names around. In the event that fails, I'd like to ask in the alternatives that we start every superhero's

"The Black Lightning character was created by Tony Isabella and Trevor Von Eeden, and in the comics he typically has electricity-themed powers—hence the name."

Oh yeah. I didn't remember Silver Surfer in the beginning, but yeah, that team was just ridiculous, considering that SS or Strange could basically take care of almost anything solo, and Hulk/Namor didn't add much to the equation.

I've been excited for this since Jessica Jones.

It's not an incredibly balanced team, but the original one in the comics, IIRC, was Namor, Hulk, and Doctor Strange. Three powerful guys, sure, but Strange was clearly in a different league. They may be going for that here? Don't know.

I'm still holding out hope that the Defenders will feature Doctor Strange, but that may be asking too much.

"We swear we’re not trying to shill for DQ’s newish Royal Blizzards here . . ."

No, and your Mom's house.

I had a serious conversation a few years ago with a co-worker who thought we should all be drinking human milk. I still don't have an adequate response to that proposal.

You're giving the commentariat way too much credit.

The weirdest thing about this is that people have been using the word "mad" this way at least since the early 20th century. So, way to have a fight about language use that was new a century ago.

Let's start with this franchise and move on from there.

How do werewolves reproduce then? Is the gene for lycanthropy so dominant that if a werewolf has sex with any woman and gets her pregnant, that child is automatically a werewolf? So are all werewolves first generation? How can that be, unless they are immortal? (I don't think they are immortal, are they?)

. . . yes?

Speaking of gender-swapping, did this series ever get female werewolves? I checked out after the first or second film, but it always bugged me that all the werewolves were men.

Pretty sure AV Club just did this article so they had an excuse to feature that photo.
